GEORGE TOWN: Penang police recovered four semi-automatic pistols and three pairs of handcuffs when they stormed a house of a suspected drug pusher.

They also found 573.9g of heroin and 26.7g of ketamine with a street value of RM11,500.

Bukit Aman Narcotics Crime Investigation Department (NCID) director Comm Datuk Seri Mohamad Salleh said the police raided the house in Taman Idaman in Simpang Ampang at 3am on Wednesday (Dec 6) following a tip-off.

“We arrested a man, who was a drug pusher, his wife and his god-sister, aged between 33 and 59, who were in the house during the raid,” he told a press conference at the Penang police headquarters on Thursday (Dec 7).

“We also confiscated a car, a motorcycle, a watch and RM1,700,” he added.

He said the police are still interrogating the suspects to determine their involvement in drugs and other criminal activities.

“We are also looking at the reasons of them having so many pistols, and if they also posed as enforcement officers when they carried out their illegal activities,” he added.

Comm Mohamad said the three suspects are being remanded until Dec 12 pending investigations under Section 39B of the Dangerous Drugs Act 1952, Section 7 of the Section 7 of the Firearms (Increased Penalties) Act 1971, Section 8(a) of the Arms Act 1960 and Section 89 of the Police Act 1967.
