Challenge Iskandar Puteri 2017 that will be held on September 23, 2017 attracts World Class Triathletes to Malaysia

CHALLENGE ISKANDAR PUTERI 2017 CONFIRMED FOR SEPTEMBER 23
The successful event comes back to Puteri Harbor from the 21st to the 23rd of September. The Main Race is set for the 23, while the Kids Race and the popular 5k run will take place on the 22.


"With UEM Sunrise as their Main Sponsor, this years event is going to be much bigger. Thus far 800 over entries have been received which is more than double the inaugural race. The event is now sixth on the Global Challenge where participant will swim 1.9Km., Bike 90Km and Run 21Km" said Keld Kristiansen Executive Chairman of Carbon Sports - the Promoter of the event


UEM Sunrise CEO Anwar Syahrin Abdul Ajib   sad the company grabbed the opportunity to become the Main Sponsor of the event as it was the perfect opportunity for them to showcase the Iskandar Puteri Development.

Iskandar Puteri lies in the southern state of Johor in Malaysia, approximately a 20-minute drive from Singapore and Johor Bahru City. The main venue Puteri Harbour Marina is an international marina surrounded by hotels, dining and entertainment options and is the main activity area for the athletes and their fans and family. It is also the starting point for the Swim Course and the transition area for all courses. The 90km Bike Course will take riders around the newly-built green city of Kota Iskandar, passing Legoland, Educity and other attractions.

On the Run Course, tri-athletes will race along tree-lined streets that surround Johor’s new administrative centre featuring a collection of architecturally aesthetic structures. Throughout the race, the courses wind around some of the best sports and recreation facilities in the country and tourist attractions surrounded by natural green landscapes ideal for outdoor sports.


Triathlon Legend Cameron Brown from New Zealand has confirmed his participation.with other professional triathletes such as  Mitchell Kibby, Laurel Wassner, Kathryn Haessner, Nicholas Baldwin, Anna Eberhardt and  Lachlan Kerin. Few more will be registering for the race in the next week.






Course Information


Swim Course:

This is a 1.9km course in the warm waters of the southern part of the Straits of Malacca that forms the border between Malaysia and Singapore. The swimmers will be protected from the open sea as the start and finish will be within Puteri Harbour Marina. A specially built transition area will allow racers to move easily from their swim to the bike course, and then to the run course.



Bike Course :

A 90km, triple loop that will take riders around the Medini area which boasts its newly-built EduCity and Johor’s sports hub constructed while maintaining the natural tropical environment of the state. Riders will also pass Legoland, along undulating roads with low rise and fall that will offer cyclists a more exciting ride and the chance to clock better times.



Run Course :

An exciting triple loop 21km course that will give spectators the chance to follow the progress of the race. The course finishes at the Puteri Harbour Marina promenade where fans and family will be waiting to cheer their loved ones to the finish line.
