PETALING JAYA: A youth who tried to snatch the purse of a woman was caught by the public after he fell off his motorcycle in Puchong here.
Serdang OCPD Asst Comm Megat Mohamad Aminudin Megat Alias said the incident occurred at about 2.15pm on Saturday at Jalan Puteri near here.
He said the 19-year-old suspect fell from his motorcycle and members of the public were able to apprehend him.
ACP Megat Mohamad Aminudin said the 40-year-old victim’s purse was also retrieved.
He added that the victim suffered minor injuries when she fell.
ACP Megat Mohamad Aminudin said the suspect, who had a previous criminal record, was expected to be remanded on Sunday.
The case is being investigated under Section 393 of the Penal Code for attempted robber
