KAJANG, Oct 24 — Two leaders of the Malaysian Muslim Consumers Association (PPIM) turned up at Kajang District Police Headquarters (IPD) this morning to assist in an investigation into a trespass at a car leasing company’s premises in July.

Its Special Action Unit director Yusuf Azmi and Operations Unit chief Ali Salimin arrived at the IPD at 8 am before being escorted to Kajang Court Complex here.

About 50 PPIM supporters were at the IPD entrance where 10 traffic policemen were also on hand to control the situation.

On July 10, about 30 car owners and PPIM activists allegedly entered the company’s premises illegally by breaking the padlock to the gate to reclaim their vehicles, and causing a ruckus.

SEPANG: There was a flurry of activity at Kuala Lumpur International Airport 2 (KLIA2) as those involved in the Kim Jong-nam murder trial made their way to the scene of the alleged crime on Tuesday.
The site visit marks the ninth day of the trial of Indonesian Siti Aisyah, 25, and Vietnamese Doan Thi Huong, 28, who are jointly charged with four others still at large, of killing Jong-nam, 45, at the Kuala Lumpur International Airport 2 (klia2) departure hall at 9am on Feb 13.
At 10am, both accused, Siti dressed in black and Doan in a baju kurung, were hurriedly led through the departure terminal towards the self check-in kiosk and then to the Bibik Heritage restaurant on Level 2.
The suspects, who were escorted by about 20 heavily armed police personnel, were earlier brought to the airport under heavy police security at around 8.30am.
At about 10.15am, the group visited the Menara Medical Clinic on level 2, where Jong-nam had sought medical treatment.
Pressmen tried to follow the group closely but the police had formed a human ring around the court officials and accused.
After about an hour, the judge and accused were seen taking a break, sitting at the waiting area near the bus and taxi ticketing counters.
Doan and Siti, who were wearing bullet proof vests, were also seen in wheel chairs.
Later, the accused were wheeled to the final location at a taxi stand and then led back to the KLIA2 police station.
Jong Nam, the half-brother of North Korean leader Kim Jong-un, arrived in Malaysia on Feb 6, and was at the klia2 to board a 9am flight to Macau on the day he was killed.

Craig Burley and Alexis Nunes sift through Cristiano Ronaldo's stats from 2017 as he claimed the Best FIFA Men's Player award.

Real Madrid star Cristiano Ronaldo has beaten Lionel Messi and Neymar to win The Best FIFA Men's Player award for the second year running.
Ronaldo, who won the inaugural prize last year, was presented the award at The Best FIFA Football Awards ceremony in London on Monday.
The Portugal captain had been favourite to claim the accolade after a year that saw him help Madrid to a third Champions League crown in four seasons and a first La Liga title in five years, as well as the FIFA Club World Cup.
Ronaldo scored twice as Madrid beat Juventus 4-1 in the Champions League final, while also finishing top scorer in the competition with 12 goals.
The award, which covers the period of Nov. 20, 2016, to July 2, 2017, is voted for by national team coaches, captains, selected media and fans. Once again, neither Messi nor Ronaldo voted for each other.
All tallied, Ronaldo won 43.16 percent of the total votes, while Lionel Messi came away with 19.25 percent and Neymar just 6.97 percent.

Amazing feeling to have won this award again. Want to dedicate to my family, my friends, my teammates and coaches from both Real Madrid and Portuguese NT and everyone who supported me.

"Thank you a lot to the guys for voting for me," Ronaldo said in accepting the award. "[I want] to give a mention to Leo and Neymar to be here, Real Madrid supporters, my teammates, my coach, my president --they support me all the year so I have to say thank you to them.
"We are in England for the first time and I win consecutive awards. This is a great moment for me."
The Madrid man will hope to follow up this success by winning the 2017 Ballon d'Or, which would see him draw level with Messi in having won the prize five times. FIFA ran its own awards for the second time after ending its partnership with France Football.

Cristiano Ronaldo won The Best FIFA Men's Player award for the second straight year.

Ronaldo said of his competition with Messi for top individual honours: "I do not compete with Leo. We are sharing the same era, he won the trophy five times and I did it another five...
"I'm just happy, I play in the best club in the world and I have the possibility to prove that I am still at a high level high."
He then jokingly said the Cristiano-Messi era "is just starting."
Also at Monday's award ceremony, Real Madrid manager Zinedine Zidane was named The Best FIFA Men's Coach.
Zidane won the award over fellow finalists Massimiliano Allegri of Juventus and Antonio Conte of Chelsea, both of whom won domestic league titles this year.
In a new award this year, Gianluigi Buffon was named The Best FIFA Goalkeeper for his play with Juventus and Italy. Buffon was also named to the FIFPro World 11 for the first time in a decade.
Buffon guided Juve to a sixth consecutive Serie A title and managed 600 Champions League minutes without conceding a goal. The 39-year-old held off competition from fellow nominees Keylor Navas of Real Madrid and Manuel Neuer of Bayern Munich.
"I am very happy, for me it is a great honour to receive this award at my age," Buffon said. "I think the last year has been a fantastic season for Juventus and for me personally. It wasn't enough to win in Europe and for this year I hope that we can play better and with the national team and Juventus."
Netherlands' Lieke Martens won The Best FIFA Women's Player award over last year's winner, Carli Lloyd of the U.S., while Dutch coach Sarina Wiegmanreceived the women's coach award after winning Euro 2017 this summer.
Arsenal forward Olivier Giroud won the Puskas Award for the year's best goal after his acrobatic scorpion kick against Crystal Palace in the Premier League in January.
Celtic received the FIFA Fan Award for their 360-degree tifo displayhonouring the 50th anniversary of their European Cup-winning team.
The Fair Play Award went to Slovacko's Francis Kone, who saved the life of Martin Berkovec during a Czech First League game, after the Bohemians goalkeeper was knocked unconscious in a collision with a teammate.

Datuk Seri Mohd Shafie Apdal will have to spend another four days in the lock-up

KOTA KINABALU: Two politically influential brothers had their day in court – one was freed on bail while the other will be detained further over a corruption probe.

Datuk Seri Mohd Shafie Apdal will have to spend another four days in the lock-up to assist anti-graft investigators over the alleged skimming of RM1.5bil in rural development funds.

Yesterday, the Parti Warisan Sabah president failed to quash the original remand order by the Malaysian Anti-Corruption Commission (MACC) at the High Court.

His team of lawyers had challenged the legality of the first remand order.

He also contended that the MACC’s grounds in seeking the remand order for the purpose of interrogating his client was not valid in law.

Judicial Commissioner Ismail Brahim disagreed with the arguments, saying that the remand order on Oct 20 was valid.
Day in court: MACC officers escorting Mohd Shafie to the magistrate court in Kota Kinabalu.

Shortly after, Mohd Shafie was brought before magistrate Cindy Macjuce Balitus, who granted the extension until Friday.

His wife Datin Seri Shurani Shuaib, who appeared emotional, and their son Mohd Shezwi hugged him as he was being taken out of the courtroom.

Meanwhile, Mohd Shafie’s younger brother Yusof was freed on a RM100,000 bail after being held for six days to assist in the same probe.

The Umno Lahad Datu assemblyman was arrested by the MACC on Oct 17.

More than a dozen supporters greeted him as he emerged from the court.

Later, a big crowd of supporters, clad in orange T-shirts, waited for Mohd Shafie to arrive and cheered him on.

The former minister was the 10th person held over the alleged skimming of federal project allocations in Sabah through the Rural and Regional Development Ministry.

The MACC is expected to make more arrests as it sifts through about 350 projects that were given to some 60 companies between the period 2009 and 2015.

The money was allegedly siphoned from RM7.5bil worth of project funds.

So far, some RM170mil in bank accounts and assets of some of the companies have been frozen.

Online Sales person gets blasted by Sports Minister Khary for using the latter's Instagram to promote their height increasing product

PETALING JAYA: Khairy Jamaluddin appeared to blow a fuse when an online "health product" promoter posted a shameless sales pitch on his Instagram account on Monday.
The plug for a height gain product drew the ire of the Youth and Sports Minister after it was posted in the comments section for his post of the scenic Cat Bells fell in the Lake District in Britain.
"Want to be tall? Come have a look at our Instagram," read the comment, which promised up to a 10cm gain in height in just 10 days.
"Please don't promote your fake s*** on my Instagram. There is no product that can make you taller when you are an adult," retorted Khairy.
"Plus, you chose the wrong person lah. I'm 182cm tall. Almost 6ft," he added.
However, his threat fell on deaf ears as two other promotion accounts advertised their products further down the same comments section, with one selling the same supplement and the other peddling weight loss medicine.
Another Instagram user tried to placate Khairy.
"Calm down, boss. It is just that message. Not a billboard," read nejabintijoel's comment.
