KUALA LUMPUR: A security guard was assaulted after he was deemed too slow in lifting a boom gate at the entrance of a residential area in Sungai Long Seksyen 7, on Sunday.

The assailant, a man driving a silver-coloured Perodua Myvi, threw several punches at the guard’s face.

The security guard, known only as Murugan, 34, lost a tooth and sustained a swollen left eye as a result.

The incident was captured on CCTV.

The 110-second long video was shared by the Metafora Anafora Facebook page, and subsequently went viral on social media and messaging apps.

In the video, Murugan was seen allowing a car in front of the Myvi to enter first. The Myvi driver apparently lost his cool and rammed into the boom gate.

Murugan chastised the driver. However, the driver proceeded to grab Murugan by the collar and punched him in the face.

A police report was lodged by Murugan on the same day.

It is understood that Murugan had been working as a security guard in the residential area for three months. He said he had not seen the driver before this incident.
