Big Time Philippines Drug Lord Mico Tan Shot Dead While Attempting to Escape a Raid by PNP

Chinese drug suspect killed, shabu lab uncovered in Valenzuela raid

A Chinese drug suspect was killed and five others were arrested in a raid on a suspected shabu laboratory in Valenzuela City before dawn Friday, a television report said.
GMA News' Unang Balita reported that anti-drug police operatives, armed with a search  warrant, raided a suspected shabu laboratory along Santiago Street in Barangay Lingunan.
One suspect identified as Chinese national Mico Tan attempted to escape, gave the police highway patrol group a chase, and engaged the pursuing authorities in a shootout.
Tan was killed in the incident, the report said.
Earlier, police operatives served a search warrant on a supposed plastic factory in Lingunan. Instead of allowing the cops to do the search, Tan allegedly drew a gun, rushed to a getaway vehicle and drove off. But the highway patrol group caught up with him moments later.
On the other hand, the search inside the target warehouse yielded chemicals and equipment believed to be for shabu-making.
But as of posting time, Philippine Drug Enforcement Agency chemists have yet to issue a statement on the chemicals found in the raid.
Later, PNP Chief Superintendent Ronald "Bato" dela Rosa conducted an inspection in the supposed shabu laboratory.
Meanwhile, the five arrested Chinese are being held for further investigation.
Security personnel at the plastics warehouse denied knowledge about the alleged illegal chemicals being regularly brought inside, and that they did not know their factory was a shabu laboratory. —LBG, GMA News
