The Legacy of Ronnie Choong continues at the Beach Club Cafe Kuala Lumpur for a third year running.

To commemorate the third anniversary of Ronnie Choong who started and revolutionised entertainment  as we know it today on Jalan P. Ramlee, Kuala Lumpur, last Thursday Trend Matrix Group threw a party for guest and partners at the Beach Club Kuala Lumpur themed "Ronnie Choong- The Legacy Continues 3".

Every year during the event the Trend Matrix Group takes the opportunity to recognise close associates, partners and staff with some awards as a show of appreciation.

Immediately after the awards presentations, Datuk Judy was sporting enough to sing a cover of Whitney Houston's Hit - Saving All My Love For You... looking  up at to the montage of Ronnie Choong on the video wall.

The Awards to Staff and Trend Matrix Partners were presented by Ronnie Choong's wife Datuk Judy Ng

While last years event was a black tie event, this year they wanted it to be colourful and fun.
The Dances and DJ performances throughout the night kept guest well entertained from the start to the end.

The night started with a cameo performance by Take 5 Band, who gave an excellent performance showing why the former resident band was sorely missed.

The Dances started with a unique Japanese Dance, followed by a Malaysian Dance Medley of "Malaysia Truly Asia". One  of the dancers actually used his blow pipe to "kill" a ballon to deafening cheer of the crowd. There was a theatrical dance routine that kept the guest spell bounded, followed by some sexy voluptuous but confident belly dancers.

Many people are not aware that Beach Club serves some really good food and their menu is quite extensive with a fusion of Asian, Italian and Western. So it was no surprise that there were some great tasting stuff at the buffet such as the beef steaks, beef and chicken satay, buffalo wings, spaghetti, laksa, tiger prawns, squid, baby octopus, grilled fish and chicken kebabs on skewers. The crowd favourite was the whole roasted lamb.

Also present at the event was Datuk Judy's business partners from the recently opened Hong Kong Beach CLub venture, close associates and friends.

A Brief History about The Legacy

Mr. Ronnie Choong passed away  in 2013 in a biking accident. From starting out as a Dj to being the winner of the Ernst & Young Entrepreneur of the Year Award in 2004, he was a well respected man in the entertainment and hospitality industry.

The year was 1996,  equipped with the extensive knowledge acquired and experience that was fine-tuned to a more global under- standing, Mr. Ronnie Choong decided to go into the business that had been His Passion and a lifelong dream – “Food and Beverage with an element of Entertainment with Tourism Appeal”. Hence, was the Birth of the first in a line of Iconic Establishments in the city that have their names still resounding through the halls of Entertainment, that opened the doors and paved the way for many others, that a Legacy that was built upon still remembers… Such is the story of Roxy Lounge, tucked away but not for long, in the basement of New World Hotel, Kuala Lumpur. Such was the start of a Legacy… he went on to open 6 other major clubs

- The Emporium Grand Cafe (1999),  The Beach Club Cafe (1999), Nouvo and Sangria Bar (2002), Q Bar Sunway (2002) The Poppy Collection (2004) and The legendary Rum Jungle (2004)

The variety of entertainment outlets, being each a pioneer in their very own form, and all being envisioned and set up by Mr. Ronnie through the span of His career, would give one an insight as to the birthplace of an entertainment difference in the heart of Malaysia.

In May 2007, Hotel Havanita completed construction and was opened in Mersing, Johor, and a year later again, in December of 2008; The “Warehouse” Club was formed, both projects of which, had Mr. Ronnie’s name and smile written all over it.

The year 2011 saw the rise of “Lumina Kiara”, a mixed Condominium & Semi- Detached Villas Development in an upscale suburb called Mon’t Kiara in Kuala Lumpur while the heart of the city He loved and treasured, had their eyes opened to His final vision, a “KL City Walk”. A final touch to a city street that He had contributed and devoted most of His life to creating something many thought impossible, many would view as a dream, but one turned reality by the blood, sweat and tears of the Man himself. “KL City Walk” comprised of 1,200 feet in total, and was a one of a kind, pedestrian walk that had been integrated with a variety of low roofed spots showcasing designer wears, bars, and eateries, a paved walkway with high- end boutiques of Food & Beverage, service, retail, and travel on offer.
