GEORGE TOWN: A Good Samaritan got his arm bitten by a woman he helped save at the Penang Bridge.
The drama unfolded at around 11am yesterday when the tow truck runner, who wished to be known only as Ah Heong, spotted the 30-year-old woman behaving suspiciously at Km2.8 on the island-bound side.
“The woman stopped her Perodua Viva by the road side and had wanted to jump. I quickly managed to pull her to safety,” he said.
Ah Heong said the woman, who is from Bedong, Kedah, was very emotional and kept sobbing.
“She tried to escape and bit me on my arm.
“I was forced to tie her legs to calm her down.
“I asked for her family member’s phone number but she would not tell me,” he said, adding that the woman was later handed over to the police.
Ah Heong has a habit of saving people at the Penang Bridge when he’s on duty.
In June last year, he had also saved a 24-year-old man, who claimed that he wanted to have “a better view” of the sea.
