TEMERLOH: A company manager was killed when he was run over by a van moments after he had rammed his BMW motorcycle into a lorry at Km118 of the East Coast Highway near the Temerloh toll plaza yesterday.

Mohd Rahimi Abdul Rahman, who suffered head and bodily injuries, died on the spot in the 8.45pm incident.

District police chief Assistant Commissioner Mohd Anuar Othman said Rahimi, who was trailing the lorry, lost control of his motorcycle and crashed into the rear of the lorry before landing on the road.

He said moments later a van, which was travelling in the same direction, ran over Rahimi, who was from Paka, Terengganu.

"Police have recorded statements from the vehicle driver and several witnesses to facilitate investigations," he said, adding the victim was travelling from Kuala Lumpur to Kuantan.

The victim's body was sent to Sultan Haji Ahmad Shah Hospital here for a post-mortem before family members claimed his remains.

On Oct 22, TV3 cameraman Nor Azman Jumahat died after he lost control of his high-powered motorcycle at Km156 along the same stretch near Maran before hitting the road divider about at 8.30pm.
