PETALING JAYA: For revellers looking to have a good time at an exclusive party, a minimum cover charge of RM10 was a small price to pay.
However, 22 wild party-goers, aged between 16 and 39, paid a bigger price when they were arrested after a villa they were partying in was raided early yesterday.
The raiding party from the Jalan Tun Razak police station, moved in at 8am at the premises located near Jalan Damai, Kuala Lumpur.
Wangsa Maju OCPD Supt Mohd Roy Suhaimi Sarif said the host, a 23-year-old woman from Johor, was among those detained.
“Our investigation showed that the host would survey areas and places to host her parties through booking.com.my.
“It took her a month to collect the funds before booking the place.
“We also found out that the cover charge was collected in stages and the minimum fee is RM10 per head,” he said.
Supt Roy added that checks by the police found that the villa was rented for RM1,720 for two days.
He said 21 tested positive for drugs while one was wanted for a drug-related offence.
No drugs were found in the premises.
Supt Roy said those arrested are expected to be charged for ingesting drugs.
