Second Finance Minister Datuk Seri Ahmad Husni Hanadzlah said the plan would be able to solve the controversies surrounding 1MDB.
He said the tabling of the roadmap would provide a clearer view of 1MDB especially in explaining the claims about the loss amounting to RM42 billion.
“The roadmap is supposed to reflect the truth about 1MDB and provide answers to misconceptions over the nature of the state-backed investment fund's business,” said Ahmad Husni.
Yesterday, Rural and Regional Development Minister Datuk Seri Mohd Shafie Apdal also confirmed the matter.
He said Cabinet ministers are free to ask questions about the strategic investment firm during Cabinet meetings.
“Yes, we do discuss and ask questions about it in the Cabinet. That is part and parcel of our responsibilities.
“We want to know what to explain to the people at large and the next course of action to resolve this problem,” he said.
Meanwhile, Pertubuhan Pribumi Perkasa Malaysia (Perkasa) president yesterday reiterated the call to establish a Royal Commission of Inquiry (RCI) to address the alleged misappropriation of 1MDB funds.
Datuk Ibrahim Ali said by setting up the RCI, the investigation will be transparent and comprehensive, and encompasses all relevant documents.
“I believe the best thing is have a RCI investigating the matter. It will reveal everything – on who's to be held responsible, who should be prosecuted, if there is an act of abuse in the mismanagement of fund and such,” he had said.
Earlier, Barisan Nasional Backbenchers Club (BNBBC) chairman Tan Sri Shahrir Samad had called on Deputy Prime Minister Tan Sri Muhyiddin Yassin to express his position regarding 1MDB.
Shahrir added that Muhyiddin's stand should be voiced out not only as an UMNO member, but also as Deputy Prime Minister.
However, it should be done accordingly through a proper platform.
