KUALA LUMPUR: The woman charged in relation to the Petaling Street stripping incident appeared in court alone.
The stylish Persana Avril Sollunda said she did not have any friends or family to post bail.
Looking tired, the 32-year-old part-time model and spa worker from Sabah walked in handcuffed to a drug offender, dressed in a short white dress with a deep neckline, which she wore under a long black coat and high-heeled black boots.
She claimed trial at a magistrate’s court yesterday to a charge of behaving indecently in public.
The courtroom was filled with reporters, while cameramen waited outside, hoping to catch a glimpse of the woman in the now infamous Petaling Street strip video that has gone viral.
When the charge was read to her, Persana caught the word “lucah” (indecent) and asked what was meant by that word.
“I was beaten...,” she started to say, but magistrate Zura Syazween Hamizan cut her off, saying the charge was not related to her being beaten by anyone.
“This is about you behaving indecently.
“Do you plead guilty?” asked the magistrate.
    “No,” replied Persana.
When asked if she had anyone to post bail, she shook her head to say no.
If found guilty, Persana faces up to three months in jail or a fine or both.
On Saturday, police arrested the Sabahan after a video went viral showing a woman removing her white jacket, black blouse and bra at the popular tourist area during an argument over her refusal to pay for her meal.
The incident allegedly took place at 4.30pm on Thursday.
On Sunday, police confirmed that the woman arrested in connection with the case had tested positive for methamphetamine.
