Top 10 Items Taken From Hotel Rooms

Top 10 items taken from hotels

When travelling, we sometimes do not pack our own towels as the hotels will provide us with clean, freshly laundered towels. Little wonder that many guests find them so comfy that they take them along.

We all love the comforts that a hotel stay offers, such as room service and housekeeping. However, some want to take the experience back with them by keeping a few “souvenirs” from their stay. StarMetro lists some of the common items taken from hotels by guests.
Magazines and books
Usually, a TV guide is placed in the room for the convenience of guests and not for them to take home. However, pencils, notepads and envelopes are complimentary.
Hairdryer
Some hotels have a hairdryer attached on the wall of the bathroom while others are available to guests upon request. However, many hairdriers have fallen victim to “accidental” packing by guests. Maybe the hotel hairdryer is more to their liking than their own.
Towels

Bathrobes
Many fall in love with the warmth and comfort bathrobes provide, and want to replicate the experience back home.
Basic amenities
Soap, shampoo, toothbrush, toothpaste and sometimes a sewing kit are placed in hotel bathrooms for our use. So, technically it’s not wrong to take them home. However, if you didn’t use them, why take them home?
Slippers
Slippers are sometimes wrapped in plastic, so once you open them, it’s okay to take them home. But why not be green, by not taking another pair home which you would probably not use again?
TV remote control
Some people take TV remote controls home just for kicks. Some actually think they can use it for their TV at home, but soon discover otherwise.
Tissue box
Tissue boxes and sometimes even toilet paper are taken away, with many guests rationalising that they have paid for it!
Hangers
Hangers are a popular item, which is probably the reason why most are attached to the rails in cupboards. Most guests claim that they forgot to take them out when packing their clothes.
Coffee sachets, cups,
saucer and kettle
Coffee and tea is complimentary, but certainly not the cups, saucers and kettle.
