30 YEAR OLD ARRESTED BY KELANTAN POLICE TOGETHER WITH HIS WIVES

Kelantan cops nab suspect wanted for splashing acid, kidnap and murder threat

KOTA BARU: Kelantan police have arrested a suspect after hunting for more than a year for a man wanted in connection with a case involving the splashing of acid, kidnap and murder threat.
They caught the 30-year-old suspect, along with his two wives, at a house in Chemor, near Ipoh, in Perak last Thursday, said Kelantan Police chief Datuk Jalaluddin Abdul Rahman.
"The suspect was brought back to Kelantan and remanded for seven days to facilitate investigation. The suspect is wanted for several criminal offences, including splashing acid, kidnap and threatening to kill and injure," he told reporters after the monthly assembly at the Kelantan Police headquarters on Thursday.
In February last year, a boat attendant believed to have acted as a middleman to resolve a misunderstanding over a fish container was slashed and splashed with acid in Kampung Hulu Beta, Nilam Puri, here.
Mohd Khaidzir Hanafi, 31, sustained serious injuries to the body as a result of the slash wounds and acid.
In another case, Jalaluddin said, police detained a worker of a tyre shop today in Machang suspected to have been involved in the death of a gold dealer in Paloh Rawa, Machang, yesterday evening.
In the 6.45pm incident, the body of Tuan Faridah Tuan Losen, 60, who had not returned home over the past three days, was found by a couple gathering grass for their sheep in Kampung Chekok Budu, Machang.
Jalaluddin said the suspect would be brought to the Magistrate's Court for a remand order, and that the police had launched a search for two other suspects in the case. - Bernama
