The one-term Pahang assemblyman, who served between 1995-1999, was picked up on Friday and spent the long Malaysia Day weekend as a guest of the MACC at its Putrajaya headquarters.
Suhaimi, 54, the former political secretary to then women, family and community development minister Datuk Seri Shahrizat Abdul Jalil was quizzed over the disposal of RM80 million from the 1AZAM programme.

Sources said 10 luxury vehicles said to belong to Suhaimi were also seized as part of the investigations.
Among the vehicles was a Volkswagen Golf GTi, Audi A4, a Toyota Alphard and a Porsche.

"He was detained to assist MACC in its investigations; had his statement taken on Monday and was released on bail this morning," said an MACC source, adding that more people will be hauled up for the probe.
Suhaimi, who was Malaysian Youth Council president in the mid-1990s and once Malaysian Malay Students Coalition (GPMS) president, also served as political secretary to then prime minister Tun Abdullah Ahmad Badawi.
The 1AZAM programme was launched in 2011 as part of the government’s poverty eradication programme.
A total of RM1.2 billion was allocated for this initiative which is said to have benefitted close to 110,000 participants.
MACC investigations director Datuk Mustafar Ali confirmed the investigations but said he has not been charged yet.
