Suspected assassin of Arab Malaysian Bank founder arrested
Police have arrested the suspected assassin - wanted for gunning down Arab Malaysian Bank founder Hussain Ahmad Najadi this morning.
Inspector-General of Police, Tan Sri Khalid Abu Bakar said the 44-year-old man was nabbed in a terrace house in Taman Larut Tin Tambahan, Taiping about 12.30am by a team of officers from the city police headquarters.
"We also arrested two men who harboured him at the house."
Khalid said police are working to find the gun used by the suspect to murder 75-year-old Hussain.
Meanwhile, on Op Cantas Khas' successes, he told reporters that since the operations were conducted on Aug 17, the nation's index crimes - except for rape and blackmail cases, had gone down 7.34 per cent.
He said police have so far arrested 11,036 people for various offences.
