Metallica Rocks Kuala Lumpur, Malaysia With A Spectacular Performance!

Nothing else mattered for 30,000 heavy metal fans, as Metallica rocked Stadium Merdeka with a spectacular set at the venue Wednesday night.

The Metallica Live in Malaysia 2013 concert was the band's first ever in the country (its last show in the region was in 1993 in Singapore), and it was a rousing success as the band rocked the sell-out crowd with a set comprising some of its most popular hits

An industry source reveals that Metallica usually comes with a hefty price tag – about RM10mil.
And one influential man plays an instrumental role in getting the tattooed rock band’s permit in Malaysia approved – Tourism and Culture Minsiter Datuk Seri Nazri Aziz.
“He’s a fan of Metallica and he fully supports the concert,” the insider tells Red Carpet exclusively.
Even the big boys of Metallica were surprised that they got through our stringent `self-censorhip’, tweeting: “Malaysia! We’ll see you for the first time on August 21 in Kuala Lumpur.”

Their excitement continues on their official website. “We’ve said it before… with more than 30 years of traveling around the world behind us, there are very few places that we have yet to explore. So it’s rather thrilling for us to be back with yet another first, a stop in Kuala Lumpur, Malaysia.”

These include Master of PuppetsFor Whom the Bell TollsOne, Nothing Else Matters and its all-time most recognisable song, Enter Sandman.

Comprising of lead singer guitarist James Hetfield, drummer Lars Ulrich, lead guitarist Kirk Hammett and bassist Robert Trujillo, the heavy metal band was formed in 1981, and is one of the most popular and commercially successful rock bands in history.

The sold out concert was organised by Galaxy Group in association with LAMC Productions and Rockstar Touring, with support from Malaysia Major Events, a division of Malaysia Convention & Exhibition Bureau (MyCEB) and coinciding with the promotional campaign of Visit Malaysia Year 2014
