Ramadan Buka Puasa Buffet Review 2013 @ Hilton Kuala Lumpur

Hilton Kuala Lumpur’s newly opened all-day dining restaurant, Vasco's will take you on a culinary journey of traditional Malay cuisine with their "Selamat Datang Ke Vasco's buffet"  conjured up by award winning Chefs. Chef Hashrul and Chef Faizal. The culinary journey sees over four menu rotations, each with over 100 Local and international delicacies, encompassing appetisers, soups, live-action stations, hot and cold dishes and desserts.

Priced at RM139++ it is the most expensive Ramadan Dinner Buffet in Kuala Lumpur  as such expectations of diners are bound to be extremely high, even then Guests were taken by surprise when they found Caviar as part of the buffet!. The service staff were efficient and friendly, even the Assistant F&B Director and Restaurant Manager  were seen going table to table to enquire if  everything was alright and to make sure that guest  were well taken care of during this culinary journey.

The Grilled Lamb station was an obvious favourite as most guest headed to this live station first.

After getting their Lamb, most guest headed straight for another Malaysia favourite the Satay counter,

The Asam Pedas live station was a crowd favourite where you could choose your choice of fish from a variety of fished provided and it will be cooked in the asam pedas broth.

Just like in most of the expensive Ramadan buffets, the Japanese counter was the most sought after. Chefs had a tough time keeping up with the crowd as the sushi & sashimi seem to disappear as soon as it hit the counters.

The usual chicken and beef rendang was another crowd favourite together with the traditional Malay classics such as gulai kambing daun salom, sambal udang petai, kailan ikan masin, daging dendeng, rendang kepah utara and masak lemak telur itik cili padi.

Another obvious favourite was the Seafood counter, laden with Crabs, Prawns, Oysters, Scallops and Caviar!.

Among the live cooking stations were the Indian Section, Roast Beef, Roast Chicken and Chinese Sections.

Our personal favourite were the assorted array of deserts. The looked mouth watering and tasted as good. There was  chocolate fondue, assorted cakes & pastries, bread & butter pudding, ice-cream, Ais Kacang and cendol on offer.

Unlimited beverages such as Cappacino. Latte, Teh tarik, Nescafe tarik, sirap selasih, air tebu and soya bean was also on offer.

The buffet is priced at RM139++ per person and RM69.50++ per child aged 5 to 11. For reservations, call 03-2264 2592/2596.
